I feel like in this picture it is showing slaves that work on a boat. Maybe they are suffering from such hard labor while on this boat because the two faces look in pain. Its sad to think that there could be slaves suffering constantly while working on an unsanitary boat.

There was a child went forth

I think that the first two lines of this poem are fairly accurate. It says that the first thing the boy sees, he becomes. When young kids watch their parents react to situations a certain way, the kid often catches on to that reaction and does the same. So whether or not the influence is bad or good, the child will most likely follow. He then says that there is the quarrelsome boys and the friendly boys. These boys could be the way they are because of the household they grew up in. Thats just my view on it.
So has a daisy vanished
from the fields today
So tiptoed many a slipper
To paradise away
Oozed so in crimson bubbles
Days departing tide
Blooming - Tripping - Flowing
And ye then with God?

I think that this poem is talking about people that die and go to paradise (heaven). It says after the days departing tide, which I think is a symbol for after death, they are then with God.

Affirmations of life

In order to handle something negatively in a positive way you have to be optimistic. Always be searching for the few things that are going your way instead of not. If you sit there and think negatively about the problem all day you'll just continue to grow more and more angry. So the key is to keep positive and calm. Thats what I believe is best.

Connection with nature

One time during the summer, a baby bunny was left behind by its family and was living under our deck. So we waited for the bunny to come out and we picked it up. The fact that it allowed me to just pick it up and hold it made me feel like it was desperate and needed food and water. So we put it in a hamster cage, gave it food and water, and called the pet store to see what we should do with it. They told us that the bunny should be able to take care of itself if its in the right environment. We took it out to the forest and let it go. I felt connected to nature because I felt that I had helped an animal in need. At the time,I was little, and I wished I could have kept it but it was the best thing to do. It did not really alter my thinking too much since i was young at the time.

Team Edgar

I choose team Edgar because in general I enjoy his work more. Even though his poems and stories are rather twisted, they're entertaining to read. I even recall owning a book full of his stories back in elementary school. That is why I choose team Edgar.
