1920's playlist
The West End Blues - Louis Armstrong: This song fits because some of the people in the west egg have the blues.
It had to be you - Isham Jones: This song would fit for the part of the book where Gatsby is talking to Daisy
I ain't got nobody - Marion Harris: This song would be fitting at the end of the book when Nick is all alone.

Mark Twain quote
"A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way."
I like this quote because its kind of funny..
But its true because its saying that you can only learn somethings by trying and finding out the results. Maybe the cat clawed him? So now he doesn't carry cats by the tail.

Whats Good?
One band that is one of my favorites is A Day to Remember. I've listened to this band for a couple years now and I have every single album they've made, and I plan on buying all the albums they make in the future. This band never gets old for me because they have a variety of fast paced songs and slow songs. Their genre is known as hardcore..if you've heard some of their music it is self explanatory.

Civil Rights quest
I found a storie about a lady named Mrs. Johnnie Mae Walker. She struggled through life getting various jobs as maids, eventually getting fired or quit, and would be searching for a new one again. Mrs. Walker started to feel that all the hate between blacks and whites needs to stop and all should be treated fairly, so she stood up for what she believed in. This was much like Bessie and Sadie standing up for what they believe and making a difference.

In HOS, Bessie and Sadie talk about fairness and equality. I found on this website in West 135th Street and Seventh Avenue, a man by the name of James Weldon Johnson was the first african american admitted as an attorney into the Florida bar. I think this displays that Harlem was definitely a place for african americans to be treated more fairly, which is why it was a known place for african americans to live.
Having My Say
I am going to talk about school uniforms. I feel like we should be able to wear what we want because it gives students a chance to express themselves. There could be some restrictions so it doesn't get too out of hand but for the most part we should be able to wear what we want. Wearing a uniform restricts us from being comfortable and being able to wear the clothes that we buy, instead of buying extra clothes just for school. I know that this will most likely never change in our school, but I think that if we could at least wear jeans, everyone would be much happier with their attire.
